Audi A4 1.8 TFSI

This variant features the 1798cc inline 4-cylinder petrol engine with direct fuel injection and exhaust gas turbocharger, producing 160bhp and is mated to a 6-speed auto transmission. It comes with power steering, power windows, 6 CD audio system, auto-climate control and safety features such as ABS, traction control and airbags. This is the sole engine handling the responsibility in Audi A4’s petrol stable. Audi A4 1.8 TFSI is the most generic engine in nature belting out 170 hp of power at 3800-6200 rpm along with 320 Nm of torque at 1400-3700 rpm. The engine consists of four cylinders arranged in line with Audi’s valvelift system and intake and exhaust camshaft adjustment with roller cam followers.

The engine with spark ignition and exhaust turbocharger, intercooler, DOHC is very efficient and delivers a good 15.64 kmpl of mileage (as per ARAI) . This is almost 25% increase in mileage in new Audi A4. Not just mileage, but the acceleration and top speed figures have seen a change and now stand at 8.3 seconds (0-100 kmph) and 225 kmph, respectively.

Features like high pressure direct and multipoint manifold injection with adaptive idle-charge control, overrun fuel cut-off, adaptive lambda control, etc are specific to the 1798 cc petrol engine. It also features unique start-stop system which switches the engine off when the car is not moving and the brake is engaged. The unladen weight of this variant is minimum among three i.e. 1470 mm. Audi A4 1.8 TFSI runs on 16 inch cast aluminium alloy wheels. This variant like the rest two is front wheel drive with electronic stabilization program ESP.
